Covid-19 positive patient dies in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, June 18 (EMN): One Covid-19 positive patient passed away in Karbi Anglong, Assam at the designated Covid-19 hospital, Old Block of Diphu Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H) at around 7.30 pm on June 17.
He was 21, and was working in Chennai for a company.
The deceased had returned from Chennai to Karbi Anglong on June 16 via Guwahati by flight. From Guwahati along with other returnees, he came by bus to Langhin in Karbi Anglong. He was lodged at Sunpura High School, Bakulia quarantine facility.
On the morning of June 17, he had breathing problem and was brought to Diphu, and admitted at Old Block of DMC&H.
“On reaching Parokhuwa, Karbi Anglong on June 16, his swab was taken. He told the medical team that he has breathing problems from before. The medical team informed the Diphu Health department about the patient. He was lodged at Sunpura High School, Bakulia quarantine centre. Yesterday he was complaining of breathing problems and was taken to Diphu Covid-19 hospital. In the evening, he again started complaining of breathing problems and showed other symptoms like cold and vomiting. As doctors were to take him for ventilation, he succumbed (to his ailments),” executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, and in-charge of Health and Family Welfare, Khonsing Rongpi, informed journalists.
Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Mukul Kumar Saikia said that due to severe breathing problems, the victim was brought to Diphu and at around 12 noon he was admitted to the Covid-19 hospital.
In the evening he again complained of severe breathing problems and at around 7.30 passed away, the DC stated.
His swab test report came back positive for Covid-19 this morning (June 18).
