Dimapur, June 21 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded ten more Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the state’s tally to 211.

“Out of 308 samples tested, 10 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported. Seven patients from Kohima, two from Tuensang QC and one from Phek QC,” the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted.

Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 141 patients as recovered so far. As per the Health department’s update, there are 70 active cases and the recovery rate is at 66%.

As of June 21, Dimapur has 16 active cases; followed by Mon with 23, Kohima with 21, Peren with six, Tuensang with three and Phek with one active case.

In his daily briefing, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha informed that all the 70 active cases are asymptomatic.

“As per the distribution of the 211 cases by age, there are four cases between 0-17 years, 200 cases between 18-44 years, five cases between 45-64 years and two cases between 65-74 years. As per the distribution of gender, there are 135 males and 76 females.

“As of 4 pm today (June 21), a total of 9,447 samples have been sent for testing. Results of 7,879 samples have been received and 1,563 samples are awaited. Out of the 9447 samples, 6405 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, till today, and a total of 5,063 samples have been tested- out of which 152 samples have tested positive,” he said.

In addition, a total of 2,443 samples have been sent for testing by Truenat, out of which 23 samples returned positive and have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR, Sinha informed.

“1,896 samples have tested negative and results of 523 samples are awaited. A total of 6, 846 persons are presently under facility quarantine. If anyone develops any signs and symptoms of cough, fever or difficulty in breathing, he/she may call the state health helpline number 1800-345-0019 of the Health and Family Welfare department,” he added.
