Covid-19 cases climbs to 563 in Nagaland

Twenty-four more Covid-19 cases were reported on Saturday, taking the tally in Nagaland to 563 so far.

Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 228 patients as ‘recovered’.

In his daily briefing, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha informed that all the 335 active cases are asymptomatic.

“Till date, a total of 13,014 samples have been sent for testing by RT-PTR. Results of 12,628 samples have been received. Out of the total of 13,014 samples sent, 8,344 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, and 447 samples have tested positive. Further at BSL-2 lab at CIHSR, Dimapur, 511 samples have been tested, out of which two have tested positive,” he said.

Also, a total of 6,858 samples have been tested by TrueNat, out of which 166 samples have been tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR, he informed. A total of 4,062 persons are presently under facility quarantine.

TrueNat detects Covid-19 positive case in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, July 4 (EMN):
TrueNat testing has detected another Covid-19 positive case in Mokokchung.

According to an official source, a 36-year-old woman had tested positive via TrueNat on July 2, after which her sample was sent to the BSL-3 lab in Kohima for confirmation.

The result from Kohima is expected to reach within few days.

It was informed that she was a roommate of the first Covid-19 positive patient in Mokokchung at the quarantine centre. They had had travelled to Mokokchung from Dimapur on the same vehicle.

The source further said that the patient is asymptomatic and her condition is stable. She is currently being kept at Covid-19 hospital, Mokokchung.
