Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally reach 590

Dimapur, July 5 (EMN):
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Nagaland jumped to 590 on Sunday.

According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, there are 359 active cases, while 231 patients have recovered so far.

“As per the severity of symptoms, 358 active cases are asymptomatic and one active case is in mild category. Till date, a total of 13,805 samples have been tested. The results of 12,819 samples have been received. Out of the total of 13, 805 samples, 8 466 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, out of which 451 samples tested positive. At the BSL-2 lab at CIHSR, Dimapur, 550 samples have been tested, out of which 12 tested positive,” he said.

In addition, a total of 7,192 samples have been tested by TrueNat, out of which 207 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. “A total of 3, 968 persons are presently under facility quarantine,” he said.

Second positive case in Mokokchung

Mokokchung district recorded its second Covid-19 positive on Sunday. Testing at the BSL-3 lab in Kohima confirmed that the 36-year-old- woman, who was earlier detected with the virus via TrueNat machine on July 2, as Covid-19 positive on Sunday morning.

It was informed that she is being kept at the Covid care centre in Mokokchung.
