230 new cases; Nagaland tally crosses 3K-mark

Dimapur, Aug. 10 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded 230 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the state’s tally to 3012.

This was informed by the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.

‘Out of 828 samples tested, 230 new positive cases have been detected. 104 in Dimapur, 104 in Kohima, 18 in Mon and four in Peren. Contact tracing is fully put in force and all primary contacts are under self isolation to avoid further transmission,’ the minister tweeted.

According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, the total active cases are 2027, and there have been eight deaths so far.

“As per the severity of symptoms, 2,024 active cases are asymptomatic, one active case is mild and two active cases are moderate. Further, out of the 3,011 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are 1,372 cases of armed forces, 1,094 cases of returnees, 198 cases of frontline workers, 293 cases of traced contacts and 54 cases of others.

“A total of 28,957 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 27,648 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 19,002 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat. A total of 2,005 persons are presently under facility quarantine,” he informed.
