Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Public organisations including Mopong Hongkong Public Forum (MHPF), Mopong unit of Konyak Union (KU), Village Councils’ Union (VCU), and Gaon Buras’ Union (GBU) under Mopong range have directed all the public of Mopong Hongkong villages to refrain from participating at the inaugural programme of the office buildings of SDO (C), BDO and police station, and Angjangyang SDO (C) scheduled on November 27.
While not opposing the developmental activities of the governments both past and present, the organisation however stated that the public and concerned organisations had already expressed resentment over the transfer of Mopong circle villages under Angjangyang SDO (C). It added that repeated appeals were made to the government to retain the Mopong EAC headquarters and its circle villages under Tobu ADC administration centre which was transferred during the retention of Longching EAC headquarters in 2014.
The organisations also stated that the transfer of Mopong, EAC headquarters under Angjangyang headquarters from Tobu administration centre was made without consulting the public and the MLAs of 55-Tobu and 48-Moka assembly constituencies at that point of time.
It stated that any organisation and individual attending the proposed inauguration programme would be doing so at their own whims and personal interest. While directing all concerned not to participate in the said programme, the organisations cautioned that any person defying the directive would be solely held responsible for negative repercussions in future.
