Frontline workers in Wokha to get Covid vaccine

Dimapur, Feb. 5 (EMN): Wokha district will begin administering Covid-19 vaccines to frontline workers (FLW) on February 8 from 9 am.

This was announced by the district immunisation officer, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, during a meeting of the Wokha district task force held in the office of the deputy commissioner, Wokha, on February 5. She informed that police personnel from DEF and 7th NAP, Home Guards and Revenue staff would be vaccinated on February 8, while personnel from 7th NAP Hospital, Bhandari, and NEEPCO Hospital, Doyang, would be vaccinated on February 9, a DIPR report stated.

Dr. Zhimomi also informed that 1994 frontline workers under Wokha district have already registered their names to get the vaccine adding that the vaccination for the frontline workers would be completed by the end of this month. To ensure success of the vaccination, she stated that all the healthcare centres and healthcare units under Wokha district have been activated.

She also informed other line departments, which have not submitted the list/ name of employees to submit the same latest by February 72021 and also appealed to upload only names of those persons who are willing to take the vaccine.

Dr. Zhimomi also highlighted the members about the Mission Indra Dhanush (IMI) 3.0, which would commence from February 22. The purpose of the mission, according to her, is to increase full immunisation coverage of those who have missed any kind of immunisation (lodor group- left outs/ drop outs and resistance). The targeted group for the mission are pregnant women and children from 0-2 years.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner and chairman of district task dorce for mCOVID-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, has urged all the concerned to extend support for the successful implementation of the vaccination.
