Tuensang DTF resolves to monitor entry of returnees

Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): Tuensang district task force for Covid-19 held a meeting at DC’s conference hall Tuensang on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DTF Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant who chaired the meeting updated on the Tuensang Town Baptist Churches Union’s resolution on restriction of any form of mass gathering within the town, a DIPR update said.

The DC also requested the other communities to come up with the same resolution to control and contain the spread of the disease. It said that Ramnikant informed that he would write to all the village councils of the district to check the traffic and movements of villagers to the town to control the spread of virus to the rural areas.

It said that the house decided to monitor the entry of returnees from other districts for which data of the returnees would be collected at the check gate and the medical and all ward union would help to monitor the same.

 It also considered the improvised SOP by allowing only one member of the family to go out for basic activities by issuing a card system of permit for some stipulated time to avoid the unnecessary congestion of the public in the town.

The members also decided to close the playground within the town to avoid the spread of the virus in the town. It was also discussed to earmark the Government Polytechnic Setam as a makeshift hospital in case of a rise in Covid cases and also Sao Chang Government College hostels for the same.

On vaccination, the house decided to prioritise the service providers’ employees.

It informed that the Tuensang district call centre to guide the Covid related issues had been activated, and the numbers are 03861220171 and 8787655927.
