Nagaland reports 241 positive cases, 13 deaths

Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): Nagaland reported 241 positive cases of Covid-19 on Sunday pushing the state’s active Covid tally to 4100, and total cases to 18076.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, in an update informed that Kohima reported 103 cases, Dimapur 102, Mokokchung 14, Longleng 10, Zunheboto five, Phek three; Mon, Kiphire , Tuensang and Peren one each.
The minister also informed that 108 positive patients had recovered on Sunday. The recoveries were reported from Dimapur – 58, Kohima – 36, Mon – six, Longleng – four, Phek – three and Mokokchung one.
The state also reported 13 deaths on Sunday, taking the total Covid deaths to 198.
3.11 lakh new cases, 4077 deaths
India registered 3, 11, 170 (3.11 lakh) new cases in the last 24 hours. However, with 3, 62, 437 recoveries (3.62 lakh) reported on Sunday, India’s active caseload dipped to 36, 18, 458, (36.18 lakh) according to data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
It said that India’s cumulative recoveries have reached 2,07,95,335. It said that ten states accounted for 70.94% of the new recoveries.
Meanwhile, Karnataka reported the highest daily new cases at 41,664 followed by Maharashtra with 34,848 and Tamil Nadu with 33,658 new cases.
Further, 4,077 deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours. Ten states accounted for 75.55% of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (960) followed by Karnataka with 349 daily deaths.
It also added that more than 17 lakh vaccination doses were administered in the last 24 hours. As on day-120 of the vaccination drive (May 15), 17,33,232 vaccine doses were administered.
Across 16,027 sessions, 11, 30, 928 beneficiaries were vaccinated for first dose and 6,02,304 beneficiaries received their second dose of vaccine.
