Manipur govt. committed to providing best tourism infrastructure — Minister

Imphal, June 24 (EMN): Manipur state is committed towards providing best tourism infrastructures and facilities in all the districts through the Tourism department under the guidance of the Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
Manipur Tourism minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh stated on the sideline of inspecting various tourism projects taken up by the Tourism Department in Churachandpur District bordering Mizoram on Thursday.
During the day’s visit, the minister inspected the integrated tourist circuit – Imphal to Tuima, Manipur (Khuga Dam), integrated tourist circuit of Chullouphai-Ngaloimol and Sangaikot and Integrated Tourist Destination of eco-tourism complex at Mata Mualtam Hyde out park.
He stated that the visit was to check and ensure that the non-functional tourist infrastructures are made functional for the tourists.
He further called for cooperation of the public for proper maintenance of the tourism infrastructures constructed by the government to enhance the components of the tourist destination.
MLA of Singhat assembly constituency, Ginsuanhau Zou, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, P Vaiphei, Director of Tourism, W Ibohal Singh, DC Churachandpur, Pawan Yadav, and other officials of the department accompanied the minister during the inspection.
Earlier on June 19, the Tourism minister visited the then Indian National Army(INA) headquarters’ building at Moirang which still stands bearing the brunt of machine gun fires and bomb splinters during the 2nd World War in Manipur, for developing the site as a major tourist hub.
