Nagaland reports 64 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths on Thursday

Dimapur, July 8 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 64 new Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday, taking the state’s tally to 25,727.
The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 64 new cases detected on Tuesday, Kohima reported the highest number of fresh infections with 21, followed by Mokokchung with 18, 12 in Dimapur, five in Mon, three in Peren, two in Longleng and, one each in Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto.
The state also recorded 125 recoveries in the last 24 hours, out of which 36 were in Tuensang, 35 in Kohima, 21 in Mokokchung, 19 in Dimapur, six in Peren, five in Mon, and three in Phek.
Nagaland currently has 1004 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 860 are asymptomatic, 90 mild, 25 moderate on oxygen, 15 severe on oxygen, six in ICU without ventilator, and eight in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Kohima has 304, 273 in Dimapur, 225 in Mokokchung, 42 in Peren, 36 in Mon, 35 in Phek, 33 in Wokha, 21 in Kiphire, 17 in Zunheboto, 14 in Tuensang, and four in Longleng.
The state has registered 23,501 recoveries and 491 deaths with no casualties reported in the last 24 hours.
More than 45K cases in India
Meanwhile, India recorded 45,892 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 3,07,09,557 (3.07 crore) while active caseload stands at 4,60,704 (4.60 lakh), according to data provided by Union Health ministry.
The death toll climbed to 4,05,028 (4.05 lakh) with 817 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
With 44,291 more patients having recovered, the cumulative recoveries increased to 2,98,43,825 (2.98 crore) at 97.18% recovery rate.
‘Weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.37%, and daily positivity rate stands at 2.42%, less than 3% for 17 consecutive days,’ stated Union Health ministry.
