New Market, Hongkong Market, Hazi Park in Dimapur to open but with restrictions

Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, on Saturday issued revised guidelines for the district following announcement of Unlock 2 by the government of Nagaland.

According to the latest order, shops and business establishments dealing with essential goods, takeaways and home delivery services for restaurants are allowed to remain open on all days from 6 am to 4 pm.

However, other shops and business establishments can open only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 am to 4 pm. Shops located in New Market, Hongkong Market and Hazi Park will also be allowed to open on these days during the prescribed window but on odd-even basis.

Movements of persons and vehicles in Dimapur will continue to remain restricted from 7 pm to 4 am, except those exempted categories and medical emergencies.

It went on to state that any person violating this order shall be penalised as per the provision of section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC.

Odd-even traffic rule still in place

The commissioner of police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo issued an order on Saturday informing that essential movements all vehicles within Dimapur district will be allowed during the Unlock 2 period (July 11 -17) on odd-even traffic system.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (example 1,3,5,7,9) will be allowed to ply and on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (example- 2,4,6,8,0) will be allowed to ply.

He stated that violators will be penalised under section 177 and 179 of the MV Act 1988. Exempted category shall be exempted, and all officers and staff in the exempted category should carry identity card issued by respective HoD, he added.
