Dimapur, Aug. 6 (EMN): In view of the forthcoming 75th Independence Day celebration, Wokha district held a co-ordination meeting of the head of offices (HOD) on August 5 under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner, Orenthung Lotha, in his office’s conference hall.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was called to discuss on work distribution by various departments for successful conduct of the Independence Day celebration.
Speaking in the meeting, the DC informed that a copy of the work distribution would be given to all the HODs shortly and requested them to implement their assigned responsibilities with outmost sincerity for the success of the celebration.
Prior to the formal celebration, the DC informed that office of the superintendent of police (SO), Wokha, would carry out a national flag rally on August 14, while the office of DRDA project director would initiate the self help groups (SHG) to organise sales day and the office of general manager of Industries and Commerce would organise sale of farm products especially citronella oil on August 10 and 11.
The DC also directed the department of School Education to organise painting and essay writing competitions for the students on August 10, while the Youth Resources and Sports and District Transport Office are asked to carry out flag rally and road safety awareness campaign on August 12, and the department of Forest to carry out plantation drive at New DC’s office complex.
AUDO has been directed to organise PMSVANIDHI camp with SHGs and street vendors on August 10, while the district administration in collaboration with DLCW-MSK Sakhi-OSC would organise Covid-19 sensitisation and awareness programme and its impact on women folks under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on August 13 at Police Point area.
The house also decided to conduct a mass social work on August 13 in all the colonies/ wards and government offices in the district. In this regard, the deputy commissioner requested all the public and the government employees to compulsorily take part during in the cleanliness drive.
Meanwhile, the SDO (C), Wokha, Chonpenthung Ezung, informed that the district task force would carry out Covid-19 vaccination drive and random rapid antigen test from August 7 in all the colonies of Wokha town. He appealed to all the public and government employees to avail the opportunity.
