Dimapur, March 4 (EMN): The Sandbox on Thursday launched its Alpha Season 2 and the NFT metaverse game by Animoca Brands has now garnered more than 2 million players.

The crypto game is rapidly gaining popularity due to its play-to-earn potential. The Sandbox uses SAND cryptocurrency as its native token and players can earn these SAND tokens by simply playing the game.

Players can freely explore 35 different virtual experiences, including the “Snoopverse” by popular rap musician Snoop Dogg. Players can complete more than 200 quests over the course of the season. Completing quests is the only way to earn raffle tickets that offer a chance to win a Season 2 Alpha Pass for free.

Players can then use the Season 2 Alpha Pass to claim their SAND rewards. There is about 1000 SAND tokens up for grabs for each player. At current price, that is around 3000 USD or around INR 2,30,000.

Apart form partnering with major brands such as Atari, Adidas, Warner Music Group, Ubisoft and Gucci to name a few, the crypto game has announced that it will be collaborating with Cube Entertainment to develop tokenised assets for the metaverse.

“Cube is truly embracing the spirit of the open Metaverse by moving one step further into The Sandbox via its K-culture hub, where it is actively curating local brands and partners of their main K-POP label and offering them presence into The Sandbox through its own lands,” said The Sandbox co-founder and chief operating officer Sebastien Borget as part of the announcement.
