Nagaland team participates in National Masters Games
Dimapur, May 18 (EMN): Nagaland Dimapur team is participating at the ongoing National Masters Games, organised by Masters Games Association, Kerala under Masters Games Federation, India at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from May 18 to the 22nd.
The team is participating in the 40 plus and 50 plus (age) category in football, track and field events with a total of 38 persons including the team manager and coach, an update from Nagaland Masters Games Federation informed.
The event includes football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, shooting and athletics.
Nagaland, Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal are in the 50 plus category, while the 40 plus category includes Kerala, Haryana, Assam, Bengal, Maharashtra and Nagaland.
During the inaugural event, V Abdurahiman, Minister for Sports, government of Kerala was the chief guest, while the presidential address was delivered by Sunil Kumar Dang. State presidents and general secretaries of Masters Games Federation attended the inaugural function.
Altogether, 24 states and more than 4000 sportspersons are participating in the five-day event.
Nagaland 40 plus team is set to play against Kerala in the first match on May 19, while Nagaland 50 plus team will play against West Bengal on May 20.
