QMHSS alumni association felicitates toppers

HSLC and HSSLC toppers along with QMHSSAA members and teachers after the felicitation programme in Mokokchung town on Saturday.

Mokokchung, June 4 (EMN): Queen Mary Higher Secondary School Alumni Association (QMHSSAA) felicitated the HSLC and HSSLC toppers from the school during a programme held at the school auditorium on June 4.

Aotula Lemtur, QMHSSAA general secretary, presented the Alumni Academic Excellence Award to the two toppers from HSLC namely Narola Imsong (14th rank) and Tsuwanaro Jamir (20th rank) and subject topper in Mathematics.

The association also felicitated Alempongla Longchar, HSSLC state subject topper in Ao subject; Akolendang, HSLC state subject topper in Environmental Education; and Tsuwanaro Jamir, HSLC state subject topper in Mathematics. The state rank holders were awarded with cash prizes of INR 10000 each and the state subject toppers with INR 5000 each.

Short speeches were delivered by the two rank holders. In her speech, Narola Imsong thanked God and the many people who supported her. She particularly thanked the school for providing quality education and her teachers from both the lower and higher section for their constant encouragement and motivation. She encouraged the other students to believe in themselves and to work hard.

Tsuwanaro Jamir also thanked God and her teachers and parents for always believing in her and encouraging her to put her best.

Shashank Pratap Singh, deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, congratulated all students who got through the examination. He acknowledged and appreciated the sincerity and hard work of the school and parents and guardians for the continuous support and assistance especially during the two pandemic years.

He stated that success is a continuous process saying, “even if you are successful in your 15, it doesn’t mean you’ll be successful in your 25.” He further encouraged the students by saying that there are ample opportunities to improve themselves and encouraged them to take each opportunity and work towards achieving one’s goal.

The welcome address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Sajimon, principal of QMHSS, and a special prayer for the successful students was pronounced by Rev. Sr. Alice, vice principal of QMHSS.
