Diphu, July12 (EMN): The disbanded six armed organisations that have signed a tripartite peace agreement with the state and central government in 2021, has blamed the government of India, the government of Assam and the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) for showing lackadaisical attitude in the implementation of clauses and sub-clauses of the agreement.
The disbanded six armed organisations namely Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF), United People’s Liberation Army, People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK), Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers (KPLT) – Run Rongpi, KPLT –Mensing Kramsa and KPLT – Donri Kramsa, under the banner Karbi Ex-Revolutionary United Forum (KERUF) held a press conference at District Press Club of Karbi Anglong in Diphu on Tuesday.
The former leader of PDCK Kongkat Teron, said that the six-armed organisations on September 5, 2021, have signed an MoS agreement with the state and central government for peace and development in the twin hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong and that while signing the peace accord both the state and central government have given their moral responsibility to implement the clauses and sub-clauses mentioned in the agreement in letter and spirit.
Teron said as part of the MoS agreement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself come to Loringthepi in Karbi Anglong to lay the foundation stones of various institutions and developmental schemes, which is part of MoS implementation, but regretfully, he said, the state and central government and KAAC are showing their apathy in the implementation of the clauses and sub-clauses of the MoS.
Teron also said the state and central government and KAAC authority have failed to provide political rehabilitation and political will to these six-armed organisations.
The former chairman of disbanded KLNLF, P. Dilli while urging the state and central government and KAAC authority to speed up the immediate implementation of the MoS, said that all the clauses mentioned in the MoS agreement should be implemented at the earliest.
The former leaders of the six disbanded armed organisations would be visiting New Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other central ministers to discuss on the implementation of the MoS.
