Nagaland Wushu Association holds annual general meeting in Kohima
Kohima, Aug. 3 (EMN): The annual general meeting-cum-judges seminar of Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) under the aegis of Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) was held at NOA office complex, Kohima, on Wednesday.
A total of 10 district representatives attended the general meeting and also confirmed preparatory camps in their respective districts for the forthcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022, stated a press release from the association.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagaland Wushu Association, president, Kudecho Khamo called upon the affiliated districts for suggestions, cooperation and support for the growth of wushu in the state.
He said understanding the challenges and scope of sports for youths of Nagaland, he has taken the responsibility to promote, encourage and professionalise wushu sports in the state and to help the young sports persons achieve their goals.
Stating that wushu is part of Olympic sporting discipline, he affirmed that with the support of NOA, NWA will try its best so that Nagas are recognised in world of wushu sports.
He also expressed hope that NWA players would bag medals in the upcoming Northeast games scheduled from October 27 to November 4 at Shillong.
He also hoped that under the visionary leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio who is also the president of NOA, sportspersons can reach greater heights.
During the technical session, NIS Wushu coach Gabriel Khamo gave a briefing for judges.
