Cannot forego flag, constitution under any circumstances — NSCN (IM)

Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) on Sunday stated that “under no circumstances” will it give up the Naga national flag and constitution as it symbolises Naga national identity.

A statement from MIP stated that the NSCN (IM) had “attached great importance” to the Naga national flag and constitution (Yehzabo) as part of the Naga political solution.

It therefore reiterated its stand to never deviate from the Naga national principle at any cost and uphold and protect the Naga unique history.

The resolution to this effect was taken during the National Assembly on May 31, it stated.

“As compelled by unpredictable political situation, the Naga people are bound to take a national decision in order to save the future of the Nagas;

“Therefore, today, in this august National Assembly, before God and before the Naga people, we, the members of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim, under the leadership of Chairman Q Tuccu, Vice-Chairman Tongmeth Wangnao and General Secretary Th Muivah, solemnly take this decision to uphold and protect Naga unique history and Naga National Principle at any cost,” the resolution read.
