Kohima, Aug. 29 (EMN): Bright Morning Star Children Home (BMSCH) under the aegis of Ideal (IW) Charitable Society organised a jumble sale to raise funds in aid of their 10th anniversary celebration, at Super Market in Kohima on Monday.
BMSCH is a home situated at Perizie in Kohima, which shelters orphans and destitute children in need of care and protection.
A variety of items ranging from ornaments, clothing, handicrafts, delicacies to vegetables were put on sale during the day.
Aleno Angami, superintendent of BMSCH, informed that homemade products like jewelleries, bracelets, wire chairs, portraits, including local meat pickles, puffed sticky rice, fish among others were prepared by the children and staff for sale.
The children and staff were also selling handcrafted articles like shopping baskets, organic vegetables, books, second-hand clothes, books, etc.
Informing that it took more than a month’s time for making necessary preparations for the fundraiser, she acknowledged all individuals who supported them and those contributing willingly for their jumble sale.
Altogether, BMSCH have18 children and 10 staff at present. They will celebrate their anniversary in December this year.
