MDFA: MMSC beat Sparious FC 8-0 to book semifinal berth

Mokokchung, Oct. 19 (EMN): Ruthless Moangnungsang Memorial Sporting Club (MMSC) humiliated Sparious 8-0 in the second quarter final match to book a berth in the semifinals of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) trophy at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on Wednesday.
MMSC striker Chubangnen did not expend much time tip-toeing the ball around the field to accomplish an astounding hat-trick before the break. Bendangnukshi who was introduced before half time because of Mayasenba’s sustaining injury also went for a brace while Molutsupang, Yashimeren and Inovi Chishi grabbed a goal each to propel MMSC to the semifinals.
Senior player Chubangnen, who entered as first eleven players in today’s match, came with a well planned intention to do real business for his team. He opened the scoring in the 21 minute of the game when the opponent’s goalkeeper made a huge blunder and gifted a howler.
MMSC who dominated the game from the start throbbed on the field and kept creating chances but were denied and the game remained stagnant for a moment after the 1-0 lead.
However, Chubangnen again levelled up the score sheet striking a long range goal in the 34 minute. One minute later Molutsupong expertly drilled a header via Conner kick to make it 3-0.
Hard luck for Sparious again, dying minutes for the break a penalty was awarded for a handball which MMSC did not make any error to score big before the break 4-0. Chubangnen converted the penalty in the 41 minute to complete his hattrick.
After the break, MMSC’s offense seemed to come close to scoring but was shut down for a number of instances. But it took only 10 minutes for MMSC to penetrate and rampage Spurious to raise its tally again. Yashimeren landed a perfect header in the 55 minute and five minutes later another header from Inovi Chishi via a corner to make it 6-0.
MMSC coach who made a crucial injury change and introduced Bendangnukshi also made a distinction by scoring a brace in the 67 and 70 minutes of the game to settle MMSC for a big win.
