KA: Preparations underway to celebrate Ngada festival

Diphu, Oct. 22 (EMN): Five villages have started preparation for the celebration of the 35th Ngada festival of Rengma Naga community in Nilip area of Karbi Anglong at Phangcherop on Saturday. The festival is held from November 25 to the 27th  every year.

More than 100 villagers of Richangari, Khanari, Khoani Kisantrongri, Raising Phangcherop and Sathi Silonijan, including men, women and youths cleaned the ground.

President of Phangcherop Zone, Kenilo Rengma said the Ngada festival involves reconciliation among the villagers and celebration. For holding the festival in the Nilip area, they selected Phangcherop and villagers of the five neighboring villages have started the preparation by clearing tall grasses and shrubs for the construction of pandals.
