Diphu, Oct. 26 (EMN): A two-day tonic sol-fa training organised by Diphu Pastorate (Rongkimi), Presbyterian Riso-Nimso Amei (Youth Fellowship) held at Borlangpher Presbyterian Church concluded on Wednesday. The training started on Oct.25 at Borlangpher, 30 km away from Diphu.
About 50 trainees (youths) from various churches under the Diphu pastorate (Rongkimi) participated in the training.
During the training session, trainees were taught the basics of tonic sol-fa and its importance in singing with notes.
On the concluding session, Diphu Pastorate(Rongkimi), Youth Fellowship leader, Vivian L Rongpi said, ‘Singing without notes is incomplete, one has to know the tonic sol-fa. With the tonic sol-fa, it is easy to write a song, and it gives clearance for the singer to catch the song in a better way. Good singing catches attention, and singing can also bring movement in our society.’
He also said there are certain rules in writing songs, and if they are followed, the song will ‘convince many hearts’.
‘So learning a tonic sol-fa is very important to become a good singer and composer,’ he added.
The training was taught by church deacons Babu Tokbi and Sar-et Teron.
