Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): Dimapur Government College (DGC) organised ‘Poiesis,’ an intra-collegiate annual literary fest on November 4 at the college campus on the theme ‘Connect. Convey. Convince.’
An update from the college informed that the fest was initiated by the English department and organised jointly by the Performing and Fine Arts Club and the Literati Club. It was funded by the College and IQAC.
The fest consisted of literary as well as painting competitions and a short play titled “The Pot of Gold,” which was written and directed by I Suzzana Yaden, recently retired faculty in English.
In a special tribute to late Prof. Temsula Ao, the doyen of Naga poetry in English, the contestants of the poetry recitation competition recited a selection of poems from her most beloved collection “Songs.”
The fest also included a lively and instructive workshop for the English Honours students of DGC on the topic “Speak with confidence,” which was conducted by T Imsunaro Ao, associate professor of Functional English at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
