Nurses suspend agitation following meeting with Nagaland Health Minister
Dimapur, Nov. 18 (EMN): The Department Recruited Aggrieved Nurses (DRAN) 2021 called off its agitation following a meeting with S Pangnyu Phom, minister of Health and Family Welfare Minister, at his official residence on Thursday night.
An update from DRAN informed that its representatives had an in-depth discussion on its grievances with the Health minister, who assured all possible assistance and early release of the pending salaries.
The DRAN added that it had decided to suspend its ongoing agitation on the request of the Health minister to call off the agitation.
It may be mentioned that the aggrieved nurses, who were recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic, had been protesting outside the Secretariat in Kohima since November 9, demanding the state government to regularise their service and release the pending salary of four months (since July).
They entered the ninth day of protest on Thursday, while also resorting to cease-work including emergencies and intensive care unit from November 15 onwards.
