Nagaland: 10-bedded ICU inaugurated in Tuensang

Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): A 10-bedded ICU was inaugurated at the District Hospital in Tuensang on Friday.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Nokchasashi, stated that the functioning of the ICU should be a step towards uplift and improvement of the hospital. He added that more efforts should be put towards providing health services to the general public.

Nokchasashi also assured to write letter to the higher authority with request to provide an anaesthesia doctor in the district hospital.  

The introduction of the ICU was conducted by Dr. Alem, MD (Medicine) at DH Tuensang, who also highlighted on the main aims and objectives of the ICU. Dr. Alem also gave a brief report about the background and history of 10-bedded ICU project under five partnerships.

The programme was chaired by medical superintendent, Dr. Puse Liegise, while Dr. Tochi Chang, pathologist at DH Tuensang, gave a brief introduction on the hospital.

The programme was attended by DC, SP, MS, DIO, doctors and nurses from district hospital and DMO (NHM).
