A football tournament under the name of Greenfield Karbi Anglong League-2023 was kicked off on Sunday Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium. The tournament is organised by Greenfield Soccer Group with co-host Hills United Football Club.
The tournament is being organised in memory of the Late Gandhiram Timung and Late Sunaram Terang.
The inaugural match was played between Klirdap FC and Hills United FC in which the Hills United defeated Klirdap FC by 2-1. The Hills United FC made the first goal in the 46th minute through Lavis Marak. The Hills United FC made another goal in the 86th minute through Ringham Jigdung.
At the dying moment of the match, Klirdap FC manage to score a solitary goal through Sarkiri Teron in the 88th minute.
The tournament was inaugurated by the executive member Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Amarsing Tisso, as the chief guest. Besides Amarsing Tisso, the inaugural programme was attended by KAA member, Ritesh Enghi, MAC member Johnny Timung; former MAC member Ramsing Timung and general secretary of KASA, Dr. Pankaj Teron.
On Monday, the first match will be played between Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC and Singhason FC at 1 pm and the second match will be played between ST –XII and RYSC at 3 pm.
