DIMAPUR — The chairman of Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM), Obed Quinker, has encouraged the team members to be their own critic to improve themselves through innovation and upscale the mission’s achievement and activities.
Speaking at the felicitation programme held at the NBHM multi-utility centre in Sovima on Tuesday, Quinker urged the members to build team spirit and work hard to achieve success.
“Our strength lies with the rustic beekeepers, when we strengthen the lowest rung we strengthen ourselves,” Quinker said.
He further mentioned that what the government had invested over the years in the mission should be justified with the amount of revenue generated for the state through the beekeeping and honey sector, an update from NBHM stated.
The programme was chaired by Sentiwabang Aier, additional secretary of Agriculture and Team leader of NBHM. It was attended by Koeshu Yimkhiung, advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Team members and staff of NBHM along with host of NDPP workers.
Also speaking on the occasion, Keoshu Yimkhiung remarked that NBHM is a grassroots mission and added that the grassroots have immensely benefitted through the initiative of the Mission. Stating that he had come across many beekeepers who have been benefited from the mission’s intervention, he urged the members to motivate and provide the much needed encouragement and guidance to the farmers.
In the powerpoint presentation, Team member Neilazonuo Terhuja gave an ‘Overview of NBHM,’ while another Team member Nzanbemo K Lotha on ‘Gaps and priorities.’
