6th All Sumi Badminton Championship 2023 underway

DIMAPUR— The 6th All Sumi Badminton Championship 2023 commenced on Tuesday at Kuda Youth Indoor Stadium, Kuda village, Dimapur. The two day event is organised by Dimapur District Sumi Badminton Association (DDSBA).

The president of DDSBA Ghukho T Naga informed that the categories for the tournament are men’s under 17, men’s open, men’s double 85 + years, men’s double 95+ and men’s double 105+.

The prize money for the winners is INR 15k for champions and INR 10K for runners up. The special guest of the inaugural programme Isaac Zhimomi, class I contractor, asked the participants to have a target in life, be it big or small, and that they should aim to achieve that target, no matter how long it takes.

He shared that many people play sports for various reasons, while some professionally, some play for health purposes and still others for the love of the game.
