All Sumi Badminton Championship concludes

DIMAPUR— The All Sumi Badminton Championship 2023, organised by Dimapur Sumi Badminton Association, at Kuda Youth Indoor Stadium concluded on July 5, with Joseph Sumi, Assistant Commandant, Nagaland Police and 12 times Northeast single badminton champion, as special guest in the closing programme.

All together, 93 players participated in the championship competing in five categories. The oldest participant was Lhokishe Awomi (63 years) and the youngest was Kivinoto Arkha (12 years), an update stated.

Results of different categories

  • Boys’ double (U-17): Champions ­- Bovi K Chishi and Heloka Swu; runners-up – Kihika H Kiba and Bovi L Yeptho
  • Men’s doubles: Champions – Hitto Swu and Toka V Swu; runners-up – Anahito Aye and Ikato Assumi
  • 85+ doubles: Champions – Kuhoje Achumi and Vikugha Chophy; runners-up – Aron Chophy and Kavito Chophy
  • 95+ doubles: Champions – Hekato Swu and Yekhuvi Achumi; runners-up – David Achumi and Pavito Wotsa
  • 105+ doubles: Champions – David Achumi and Ghukiho Naga; runners-up – Kuhoje Achumi and Yekhuvi Achumi
