Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, has urged the people to remain vigilant against ‘ism’ and appealed to every community to co-exist in harmony
DIMAPUR — Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, has urged the people to remain vigilant against ‘ism’ and appealed to every community to co-exist in harmony.
The minister was addressing the 43rd general conference of Sümi Hoho, Kohima unit, at Capital Convention Centre in Kohima on Saturday.
Zhimomi stated that in the course of co-existing with other communities, the Sumis should not be complacent but remain vigilant against ‘ism.’
As residents of the state capital, he stated that it is their duty to be the community’s ambassadors and act as harbingers of peace and communal harmony.
He also encouraged the community members to make selfless efforts towards the overall growth and progress of Kohima.
The minister also underscored that unity within the Sümi community and with other Naga communities is the only way to go forward.
Maintaining that nothing should be allowed to come in between the unity and progress of Naga society, he said the paramount duty of Nagas is towards “our land.”
While extending best wishes to the new office bearers of Sümi Hoho, Kohima, he hoped that they would perform their duties with conviction and determination.
Commissioner and Secretary of Health department, Y Kikheto Sema, inducted the new office bearers.
The conference was also attended by Sümi Totimi Hoho, Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu, Sümi Officers’ Union (Kohima), Kohima Sümi citizens and well-wishers.
