Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) Dimapur murder case: A suspect has been arrested from Mon
DIMAPUR — Barely a day after the murder of a chowkidar at Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Dimapur, Nagaland Police has arrested one suspect from Mon district on Friday.
It may be mentioned that a chowkidar of ISBT identified as Hozheto Yepthomi was found dead with multi injuries from ISBT on August 24 morning.
A police officer confirmed that a suspect has been arrested from Mon. However, the officer has refused to give further saying the investigation was on.
Meanwhile in separate statements, the Konyak Union (KU) and Konyak Union of Dimapur (KUD) have strongly condemned the murder of Hozheto Yepthomi allegedly by one Noknyei Konyak of Yuching village under Mon district.
Having learned from reliable sources, it stated that the culprit is a drug addict and a habitual offender. While urging an urgent need to address the escalating drug menace in the society, it recalled the tragic incident on May 25 in Tizit, wherein a promising student leader lost his life to drug-related violence.
The two organisations have called upon the government to take effective measures to combat drug menace that is plaguing the society.
Other organisations including Dimapur Sumi Council (DSC), Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), Sümi Hoho, Western Sümi Kükami Hoho-Phushito Aye and Yuching village council have condemned the murder.
