Departments bid farewell to outgoing officers

DIMAPUR — Departments of School Education, Information Technology and Communication and Phek district administration have bid farewell to outgoing officers on August 31.

Phek district bade farewell to its outgoing deputy commissioner, Kumar Ramnikant, during a programme at the DC’s office complex in Phek town on August 31.

In his farewell speech, Kumar Ramnikant expressed gratitude for the love and affection he received from the people of the district during his tenure. He emphasised the importance of stability of tenure for officers in the district to achieve long-term goals and development.

He also urged responsible authorities to maintain the quality of infrastructure projects, particularly 2-lane roads, which are crucial for the district’s progress.

As Phek district celebrated its 50th anniversary, he called upon the district’s apex bodies and leaders to work together. He praised the forward-thinking tribal hohos and women organisations for their progressive goals and believed that the district could shed its “backward” tag with their continued efforts.

He commended his officers and staff for their exceptional performance and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit as his successors.

The department of School Education also bid farewell to its nine retiring officers held at the Morung conference hall on August 31.

In their speeches, the director WonthungoTsopoe and additional director Razouseyi Vese expressed appreciation to the retiring officers for their dedicated service.

The retiring officers included joint directors namely Ratovinuo Pienyu, Nungshisongla Aier, and M Amongla Longkumer, deputy directors namely Opangkokla Aier, L Moa Aier, and Kepemu James, assistant director Y Shahato and head driver Vitsosielie Nagi.

The department of Information Technology and Communication also bid farewell to its outgoing director, Tongtiliba Longkumer, on August 31.

During the programme, the advisor IT&C, H Sethrongkyu Sangtam, delivered a brief speech expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the outgoing director for his dedicated service to the department.

In his farewell speech, Longkumer acknowledged the professionalism and efficiency of the officers and staff and urged them to continue upholding professionalism in the dynamic world of IT and Communication. He also emphasised their role as a driving force for good governance.

Chura Katiry has highlighted several significant achievements made under the leadership of the outgoing director.

Besides, he highlighted the recognition received during Longkumer’s tenure including the CSI-Nihilent Award 2017 for the best-performing state in the Northeast region in e-Governance, the Northeast Tech Sabha-Enterprise Application Award by Indian Express Group 2018, and top rankings in the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NESDA) and state portal accessibility categories among Northeastern and hill states.
