FTII Pune to organise 10-day screen acting workshop in Kohima

DIMAPUR — The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Public Relations, is set to organise a 10-day screen acting training for ST participants from Nagaland between October 30 and November 10.

According to a DIPR report, the training will cover subjects like actor movement, improvisation, voice, speech, and diction, monologue, physical culture, sense memory and imagination, observation, and character study, as well as technical aspects of screen acting.

Anita Salim, an alumna of FTII Pune, will serve as the resource person for the training.

Since 1984, Salim has appeared in various plays and led workshops for students, amateurs, and professionals. She co-founded The Phoenix Players, where she also works as an actor, mentor, and producer.

Salim has worked on costume design as well as mime, dance, and storytelling, and she was also the resource person during the first phase of the training, which was held online.

The training will be conducted at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Kohima, and the participants should belong to scheduled tribes and be 18 years of age or older.

There will be no course fee; however, participants are required to pay INR 1,000 at the time of registration. Interested candidates may send their details with their ST certificates to iprnagaland@gmail.com or contact 8861160084. The last date for submission is October 25.

The update stated that certificates will be issued by FTII upon successful completion of the course and that no travel allowance or dearness allowance will be provided to the participants.
