Sao Chang College students stage peaceful rally in Tuensang
DIMAPUR — As part of the first phase of agitation under the aegis of the Chang Wetoshi Setshang (CWS), hundreds of students from Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang, undertook a peaceful rally on Friday, starting from Tower Clock to the DC’s office complex.
The rally was staged to protest the failure of the Higher Education department to fulfil CWS’s list of demands contained in the memorandum earlier submitted to the department on September 8, 2023.
In its memorandum, the student body demanded the appointment of a principal for Sao Chang College, to address staff shortage issues (both teaching and non-teaching), upgrade the science laboratory, and provide adequate college buses.
It may be mentioned that on October 12, the CWS locked the gate and office of the college.
