DIMAPUR — Light to moderate rainfall is very likely at several places in Nagaland and other north eastern states of India over the next few days, as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD, in its All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin released on Wednesday, issued weather warnings in connection with the Deep Depression (remnant of Cyclonic Storm ‘Hamoon’) over southeast Bangladesh and adjoining Mizoram.

It indicated that the depression is anticipated to persist in its north-northeastward movement and weaken further into a well-marked low-pressure area.

The forecast indicated light to moderate rainfall for Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, southern Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and eastern Arunachal Pradesh on October 25 and 26. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, is highly likely in Kerala, Mahe, and Tamil Nadu over the next 5 days. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is also expected on October 25th and 29th, the bulletin added.

The IMD bulletin mentioned that predominantly dry weather is expected to prevail over the remaining parts of the country.
