Capt. Kenguruse Tournament: Liangmai FC and WSSA register wins

KOHIMA — Liangmai FC from Peren and Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA) from Niuland emerged victorious in their respective matches at the ongoing 7th edition of Late Capt. N Kenguruse Mahavir Chakra Memorial Football Tournament on Thursday at IG Stadium in Kohima.

In the first match of the day, Liangmai overcame Head Hunters FC (164 INF BN TA) with a score of 2-1.

Yhunshalo Kemp found the back of the net in the 21st minute, while Weliso added another goal in the 61st minute to secure the win for Liangmai.

The lone goal for Head Hunters was scored by Thanglenhao in the 33rd minute.

In the second match, WSSA managed to edge past Viswemi FC from Kohima with a score of 4-3.

Haileuyibe scored twice in the 5th and 86th minutes, while Mughahuto contributed the third goal and Homuka scored the fourth in the 32nd and 84th minutes respectively for WSSA.

Viswemi opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Zapokhoto and Vilone scored a brace during the match in the 13th and 55th minutes.

Friday’s Fixture

1st match: Medziphema Toyale FC (Chümoukedima) vs. New Agers FC (Kiphire) at 8 am

2nd match: Tehok FC (Mon) vs. Chang Sports Association (Tuensang) at 1 pm
