Dimapur student shines at national quiz contest

DIMAPUR — Shubham Das, a 12-year old class 6 student of Government Middle School (GMS) at Metha Colony under ward 23 of Dimapur Municipality, secured second position at the national quiz competition conducted online by Gurushala, an online platform for education. The first prize winner was from Himachal Pradesh.

Das, representing Nagaland, competed with six students from Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab based on cosmos, general knowledge, Science and literature. It was a onetime event conducted from Indian Mobile Congress 2023, said a teacher from GHS Metha colony. 

Gurushala is a free-of-cost online teacher training and professional development initiative implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and funded by Vodafone Idea Foundation and Indus Towers Ltd.

The initiative was aimed at empowering teachers and administrators with the knowledge and expertise they need to help students effectively in the upcoming academic year. Gurushala has been working with teachers and students for the last 10 years to enhance their skills and capacities through self-paced online courses, training and expert sessions.
