SJC annual fest ‘Erudite’ gets underway

KOHIMA — The third edition of the ‘Erudite,’ an annual fest of the post-graduate students of St. Joseph College (SJC) in Jakhama, began on Friday at the college indoor stadium.

The deputy director of photography and storytelling at Asia Pacific Associated Press, Yirmiyan Arthur Yhome, was the special guest of the event. Sharing her years of experience in the media, she pointed out the significance of cultural identity and told students to believe in themselves and also seek meaningful connections.

The college principal, Fr. Dr. Keduolhou Angami, informed that the fest is to cultivate academic interests among the post graduate students. He further pointed out the importance of extracurricular activities among the students as it enhance the students developments.

Jipsing Taro, convenor of organising committee, informed that the fest started in 2022 to provide platform for PG students to inculcate healthy competition and to bring out the best in a student. According to him, it is a platform to share and learn from one another

He believed that the third edition would help students realise their talents and full potentials and also help them expand their perspective, grow their knowledge and hone their skills

Earlier, the pro vice chancellor of Assam University, Diphu campus, Professor Sivasish Biswas, also addressed the students.

On the theme “Envision, exert and excel,” the two-day fest highlights would include debate and quiz competition, upcycle fashion, short movie etc.
