DIMAPUR — The National Service Scheme (NSS) cell volunteers of Pranabananda Women’s College (PWC), along with the programme officer, Ulla Laureen Fernandez, visited the members of the Dimapur Two-Wheeler Taxi Association to interact with and distribute gift hampers to the lady taxi riders.

According to a press release, the purpose of the visit was to appreciate and encourage their choice of profession and to convey how they are empowering young women in society.

During the interactions, it was learned that there are six female riders among the 193 who are available at different junctions in Dimapur, like Dhobinala, City Tower, Bata Charali and Super Market.

The cell expressed gratitude to the general secretary of the association, Honko Konyak, for facilitating the meeting and extended their best wishes to the riders. They also expressed hope to see more female riders in the future.
