DC Kohima requisitions govt vehicles for Lok Sabha polls
DIMAPUR — Kumar Ramnikant, the deputy commissioner (DC) of Kohima, has notified that, in preparation for the general election to the Lok Sabha, the government departments in Kohima district have been served with a requisition order for government vehicles in the exercise of power conferred under Section 160 of the Representation of People Act 1951.
It stated that many departments have applied for exemption of vehicles from the election duty. In this regard, the DC informed that the exemption cases have not been considered on account of the huge demand from other districts for vehicles.
However, vehicles assigned to the additional heads of departments (AHODs), heads of departments (HODs), and those required for off-road conditions are being considered, as per a report from the DIPR.
Therefore, AHODs and HODs have been requested to submit all the requisitioned vehicles at the IG Stadium by April 10, along with the drivers, to facilitate the smooth conduct of the election process.
