Assam Rifles organises yoga sessions, blood donation camp

DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a yoga session and awareness talk for students of SFS Medziphema in the run-up to International Yoga Day on June 14.

According to a press release, during the session, students practiced various yoga asanas under the supervision and guidance of yoga instructors. The event aimed to enlighten students about the importance and benefits of yoga in daily life.

A total of 150 students and 10 faculty members participated in the yoga session. A similar programme was also held in Athibung town, Peren.

Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a painting competition for school students in celebration of the 10th International Day of Yoga with students from Govt. Higher Secondary School, Singrijan, Dimapur.

The event was attended by 70 students and teachers, as well as troops. Students were encouraged to embrace yoga and integrate it into their daily routines for better health and well-being.

Blood donation camp

Assam Rifles, in conjunction with the Voluntary Blood Donor’s Association, organised a blood donation camp in Kohima on June 14, World Blood Donor’s Day.

It was mentioned that among the donors on the occasion were students, civilians, and Assam Rifles personnel.

The event culminated with a pledge ceremony, during which participants committed to regularly donating blood and spreading awareness about the vital need for blood in medical emergencies.
