NBBSS holds governing body meeting in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur branch of the Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan (NBBSS) hosted its 100th all-India governing body meeting at the Rotary Auditorium in Dimapur on June 22 and 23.
The event was attended by 110 delegates from various parts of India involved in Bengali literature, according to a press release.
A cultural programme was organised on the occasion at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium, Dimapur, with chief guest Anil Kumar Dhar, general secretary of NBBSS (Central), New Delhi and special guests Swami Chinmayanandaji, KK Paul (president of Bengali Samaj), Arun Nandi, Bidhan Roy, and Gobinda Debnath from the state committee, among others.
The programme featured a group song by the women members of NBBSS, Dimapur, as well as performances by cultural troupes from various musical institutes in Dimapur. To commemorate the event, the web magazine “Sankhanad” was also launched by the chief guest.
The two-day meeting concluded with the adoption of several resolutions.
NBBSS, an all-India organisation headquartered in New Delhi, was established in 1922. Its founding members included eminent personalities such as Rabindranath Tagore, Atul Prasad Sen, Radha Kamal Mukherjee, Kadarnath Bandhopadhya, and Mahendra Chandra Roy, along with other prominent novelists, writers, composers, poets, and enthusiasts of Bengali literature.
