Little Star Hr. Sec. School celebrates freshers’ day
DIMAPUR — Freshers’ day was celebrated at Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS), Dimapur, on June 29 at the school premises.
The principal, Christina Neikhrienuo, speaking on the occasion, emphasised the importance of fresh starts and new beginnings, according to a press release.
The judges for the event were Benisha Keppen, principal of Rincho Academy, Sovima, and publicity secretary of All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) Central; PJ Nathan, principal of Hebron Hr. Secondary School, Sovima, and general secretary of ANPSA Central; Vizo Putsure, entrepreneur at Green Gold Designs; Helen Jamir, assistant teacher of English at LSHSS; and Imlitemsu, assistant teacher of social science at LSHSS.
As part of the programme, the freshers showcased an array of both traditional and contemporary ethnic wear of their choice from different regions and cultures, along with a variety of performances, including songs, dances, a piano recital, a band performance, and a special performance by Lolentssa Kithan, Star Talent 2023.
In her exhortation, Keppen commented that she was highly impressed by the display of exceptional talent and confidence. She encouraged the students to continue exploring their creative potential and emphasised the importance of hard work and perseverance. She further urged them to be self-aware, embrace their individuality, pursue their passions, and strive for excellence.
Putsure announced the results for the event, with Limnuker Jamir and Imkongsenla Longkumer being crowned Mr. and Miss Freshers 2024, respectively. The runners-up for Mr. and Miss Freshers were Mharenthung Khuvung and Grace Thejanuo Sekhose.
The other title winners included Mr. Ethnic Wear, awarded to Imnanokden N Yaden; Miss Ethnic Wear, awarded to Elita A Sangtam; Mr. Congeniality, awarded to Esalong Pongen; Miss Congeniality, awarded to Tiamongla Longkumer; and Star Talent, awarded to Thsanci.
