DIMAPUR — Nationalist Institute of Innovation and Technology (NITI) conducted the Morung Scholarship Test across schools in various districts of Nagaland on Saturdays in November, besides the NITI Dimapur Centre on Sunday (November 24), offering a life-changing opportunity for over 1,000 students.

In a press release, NITI Dimapur Centre informed that the initiative aims to foster local talent and enable aspiring doctors and engineers to achieve their dreams while staying close to home.

“It has enabled the students to understand the national pattern of the competitive exams wherein time management, MCQ test, selecting the right questions with calmness is very crucial to avoid negative marking,” it stated.

The scholarship test, designed to identify and reward academic excellence, provided students with the chance to win cash prizes of up to INR 10,000. In addition, top-performing students will benefit from up to 100% scholarships for NEET and JEE coaching programmes.

This initiative reflects NITI’s commitment to ensuring students in Nagaland have access to quality education and career-building opportunities within the state, minimising the need to relocate to unfamiliar and culturally different regions, the centre informed.

“Nagaland’s students often face challenges in accessing competitive coaching facilities without leaving their home state. NITI’s Morung Scholarship Test bridges this gap by offering state-of-the-art coaching programs tailored to the unique needs of local students,” the release stated.

Through the initiative, NITI seeks to empower students to compete at national levels without compromising on their cultural roots or safety.

“NITI envisions a future where Nagaland’s brightest minds can confidently step into the nation’s governmental medical and engineering colleges at a low cost while inspiring others to follow their path of perseverance and success,” the release added.

It may be noted that Class VIII to XII students interested in Science stream can avail Morung scholarships for preparation for NEET and JEE exams through coaching and crash courses. Awards and rewards will be declared after a week, during which students can undergo counselling for better careers.
