Dimapur, Dec. 14 (EMN): Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) organised a programme on child rights and protection for all the children of its group on December 14 at Assisi campus, Dimapur.
An update from ACID informed that Abigail Murry chaired the programme, while Sister Pramila, director of the Assisi Centre, motivated the gathering and stressed on the importance of leadership skills. She also highlighted on the importance of child rights and protection policy.
“Nature has provided some inherent rights to every human being including children. Every child has the right to be protected from neglect, exploitation and abuse both at home and outside,” Sr. Pramila said.
She, therefore, stated that every child has a right to participate in any decision making that involves their part as they are the future custodians.
“Children are the potential embodiment of ideals, aspirations, ambitions and also future hopes. They are the future shoulders in the form of great leaders, planners on which the country would rest,” Sr. Pramila added.
During the programme, sister Geeta highlighted the activities conducted during the year.
Altogether, 154 children and parents attended the programme.
