Internet of Things (IoT) and 3D Printing Lab at NIELIT Kohima was inaugurated by Advisor of Information and Technology and Communication, Economics and Statistics, Sethrongkyu
DIMAPUR — Advisor of Information and Technology and Communication, Economics and Statistics, Sethrongkyu, inaugurated the Internet of Things (IoT) and 3D Printing Lab at NIELIT Kohima on July 28.
Sethrongkyu, who was the special guest, inaugurated the facilities during the programme to welcome the first-year students of Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA).
A DIPR report stated that the lab is equipped with cutting-edge technology and is expected to empower students to stay abreast with emerging technologies and innovations, thereby preparing them to compete on a global level.
The special guest also gave away certificates to the police personnel who are undergoing advanced cyber forensics training at NIELIT Kohima.

During the programme, the students have displayed wide range of IoT applications designed and built as part of their academic projects. The projects encompassed cutting-edge technologies and real-world applications.
Some notable IoT applications showcased during the demonstration included smart parking system, bluetooth controlled home automation system, smart door lock using RFID, LED matrix using Arduino, smart street light system, radar using Arduino and many more.
Besides, the special guest also had an opportunity to witness the brilliance of NIELIT Kohima’s students in the realm of 3D printing technology.
Visibly impressed by the students’ projects, Sethrongkyu commended their technical skills and creativity. He emphasised on the significance of such practical learning experiences in shaping future technocrats and contributing to the development of Nagaland’s technology landscape.
Sethrongkyu also appreciated the well-equipped IT and electronics infrastructure available at NIELIT Kohima and emphasised on the importance of quality technical education. He has committed to extend continuous support to further enhance technical education in Nagaland in the field of IT and electronics sector.
He further urged the students to embrace hard work and commitment to achieve success in life.
In his welcome address, the director of NIELIT Kohima, Lanuwabang, shed light on the diverse activities and opportunities that NIELIT provides to the state of Nagaland.
He welcomed the fresh students to NIELIT and stated that they are not only joining the institute but also entering the vast world of information technology, which offers endless opportunities for innovation and growth.
He encouraged them to explore and excel in the field and also contribute to technological advancements and making a positive impact on society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by A Morimenba Amer, joint director of NIELIT.
