Advisor Khamo seeks public support for development
PHUSACHODU — Advisor of Central Administrative Works Department (CAWD) and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, on Wednesday called upon the people to support the government and work in tandem in order to sustain development and attract further investment.
He stated this during the inauguration of a new Panchayat Bhavan building in Phusachodu village under Phek district. Khamo commended the Phusachodu Village Council (PVC) and Village Development Board (VDB) for the judicious use of government funds for development of the village including improving road connectivity and other infrastructures.
He encouraged the community to take advantage of the government schemes and facilities aimed at improving livelihood and empowerment, health and other sectors. He also urged the people to unite and imbibe the culture of honesty and hard work.
Besides, the advisor urged the villagers to embrace the people-centric government initiatives be it in education, livelihood, health initiatives, economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. He asserted that the government of the day is working towards inclusive development.
Meanwhile, Khamo highlighted the chief minister’s commitment towards development and promotion of sports, tourism in Nagaland, education and over all round development of the state and exuded hope that it would align with the global standards.
He further assured the people of his dedication for the development of the constituency. With the advent of festive season, Khamo encouraged the community to take time for introspection, planning for personal and family growth.
Vezuhu Keyho, president of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), commended the Phusachodu village as a model village, attributing its achievements to a spirit of unity and transparency. He urged the village to set positive example for surrounding areas.
He further asserted that CPO, as an approx organization, has been emphasising on the importance of community development and judicious use of government funds.
Shunyhunle Nyenthong, joint director of Rural Development department, also commended the village for its achievements and effective management of resources, describing the new Panchayat Bhavan as a unique project executed by Phusachodu village under the department’s rural infrastructure projects.
She stated that Phusachodu’s commitment to transparency and cooperation was a model for future development.
Vethikhoyi Khamo, VDB secretary of Phusachodu, shared the vision behind the new Panchayat Bhavan, noting that the building would serve as a guest house to promote hospitality for visitors, researchers and dignitaries.
He added that the facility included a library hall, designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing and preserve local narratives for researchers.
A short speech was also delivered by Vehupa Rose, chairman of Phusachodu village council.
