WOKHA — Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor of Agriculture, inaugurated a multipurpose hall at ‘0’ Point in Sanis town under Wokha district on October 26. The programme was marked with felicitation of NPSC achievers for 2023 from Sanis Assembly Constituency (AC) and sensitisation on the GoEmploy project.

Speaking on the occasion, Mhathung Yanthan informed that the purpose of GoEmploy was to provide employment and career-related training targeting the youth of his constituency. He added that the project would mainly focus on addressing the significant skill gap faced by many individuals. The project was his political commitment during his second stint as a people’s representative.

He stated that the project was designed to empower unemployed youth by imparting essential skills and equipping them for future opportunities. “As part of our efforts, we conducted a comprehensive survey to create a database of the youth and map their interests. It garnered a remarkable response, which proves their eagerness and enthusiasm,” Yanthan said.

He informed that the project is not a formal government initiative but is aimed at encouraging the youth to consider a broader spectrum of career paths. He urged the youth to change their mindset from focusing solely on government jobs to a more diversified approach that encompasses the private sector and entrepreneurial ventures.

Pinnacle Skills, Emporium Skill Institute, H&A Arms Incorporation also conducted career counseling during the programme and interacted with the participants.

Khodao Mozhui, pastor of Hajang Baptist Church, said the dedicatory prayer, while Daniel Humtsoe presented the building report. Mhathung Ngullie delivered a speech on behalf of all the NPSC achievers of Sanis AC, and a prayer of blessings was offered by Ezanbemo Odyuo, pastor of Lakhuti Baptist Church.
