Alumni meet-cum-cultural day held at Mt. Tiyi College
WOKHA — The Alumni Association of Mount Tiyi College (MTC), in collaboration with the cultural committee of the golden jubilee 2024, organised the 3rd alumni-cum-cultural day on October 4 at the college conference hall.
The special guest of the event and 1992 batch of the college, Mhathung Tsanglao, joint secretary of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, shared his experiences as a student. He thanked the alumni for taking the initiative to reconnect, share and celebrate together with fellow alumni, faculty and current students.
He encouraged the students to continue bringing laurels to the college by exploring various fields and opportunities besides academic achievement.
Greetings were delivered by Dr. Bweyhunle Khing, orincipal of MTC, Mhonthung Yanthan, 2001 batch of the college and assistant professor at St. Joseph College, Jakhama, and N Areni Patton, 1989 batch of the college and additional commissioner of Taxes, Dimapur.
The welcome address was delivered by Abemo Kikon, 1999 batch of the college, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Wonchibeni Murry.
The general secretary of the Alumni Association gave brief reports, while opening and closing prayers were said by Chumbenthung Murry, assistant pastor of WTBC, and Eyilobeni R Kikon, CNY director of Samyan Baptist Church, Vungoju.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the students, who competed in folk dance and traditional fire-making.
The of judges included Y Zubemo Ezung, 2001 batch of the college and government teacher; Z Thungchano Kikon, 1991 batch of the college and councilor of Wokha Town Council, and Thungdemo Kyong, 1995 batch and entrepreneur.
